150 Affirmations to encourage children to build positive self-image and improve self-esteem

Build a positive mindset in children with 150 affirmations that will increase their confidence, boost their self-esteem and encourage them to always think positively about themselves.

Our empowering self-help book, 8.5" x 11", is designed for children aged 8 and above as a tool to boost self-esteem and nurture a strong sense of self-worth.

  • Build Self-Confidence
  • Learn Coping Skills
  • Practice Handwriting

Children face a myriad of challenges, big and small, and we want to equip them with the tools they need to thrive emotionally and mentally. Our book offers an innovative approach, blending positive affirmations with engaging handwriting exercises to create a holistic self-improvement experience.

At the heart of this book are carefully crafted positive affirmations, meticulously selected to resonate with young minds. Affirmations act as powerful seeds of confidence and self-belief, and in this book, they're transformed into a memorable, hands-on learning experience. Each affirmation is read, traced over increasingly faint lines, and then written out by the child themselves.

This repetition only aids in encoding the affirmations into memory, and also harnesses the "generation effect". This is the phenomenon neuropsychologists have identified where we can better remember something we have generated ourselves. We better remember something if we say it, rather than hear it. If we write it down, rather than read it. Through writing an affirmation several times, a child more effectively encodes the affirmation into their memory.

Not only does it instill a sense of self-worth, but it also doubles as a creative and enjoyable handwriting practice tool. As children engage in the affirmations, they simultaneously enhance their penmanship skills, making the learning process both constructive and enjoyable. This book encourages children to develop their self-esteem while mastering the art of writing, resulting in a well-rounded and confident young individual.

By fostering positive self-talk and honing essential writing skills, we aim to equip the next generation with the resilience and confidence they need to succeed in life.

The Science of Memory

When you write things down, it is easier for your brain to remember them.

The act of creating the words on the page makes it easier for our brains to store them in our memory. This means that, if you write something down, you’ll remember it better than if you read it.

It’s the same as when you meet a new friend. If you listen to them say their name, then you may or may not remember it. But if you say their name back to them (“Hi Jami, nice to meet you”) then you’re much more likely to remember it.

And having all these positive affirmations written in one book makes it even easier. If you can’t think of an affirmation, you just pick up this book and flick through it to be reminded of all these great things about yourself.
